Hendersonville Bike Routes - Indian Lake Peninsula

Two bike routes travel the length of Indian Lake peninsula. The route on the left runs approximately five miles from Memorial Park to Leeward Point. This easy trip has almost no traffic and a few minor inclines. Hendersonville has no better route for the beginning rider.
Start your trip at Kids' Kingdom and follow the asphalt trail through a small wooded area to Cherokee. Cross the road into the High School parking lot and follow the driveway to the southern side of the school exiting to Berrywood. Follow the road map as shown below to Island Drive, Lake Terrace, and then Glenn Hill. Once you get to Meadow Lake take the alternate to Hidden Lake an then to the furthest point - Leeward Point.
The route along the right side is considerably more challenging both is terms of dodging traffic and climbing hills. It starts Shopping Strip on Bonita, which has a bike route along either side once you get past the circle. Just on the other side of Maples Club turn onto Jefferson, climb some hills and fight some traffic. Fortunately, on the other side of Cumberland Hills its a downhill glide with less traffic. No watch the map closely, because if you are like I, you'll get lost on the Nachez and Ballatrae roads.
At Cumberland Hills Dr you'll have to turn left, go over to Indian Lake Rd and go over to Island Dr and travel the left side route.
