Greenway - Gallatin, TN
On December 10, 2007 the mayor's office in Gallatin, TN unveiled its plans for the Town Creek Greenway. The greenway has trail heads behind Sumner County Courthouse and at Triple Creek Park. It runs parallel to Town Creek for approximately 1.9 miles. The City obtained $1.2 Million in grants for its construction. The actual place-ment of the Greenway has not been finalized. Architectural firm Kimley-Horn showed possible placement on either side of the Creek. Rosemary Bates, assistant to Mayor Joanne Graves, stated the the final location depends on the City's ability to get "right of ways."
Ms Bates was unable to give any dates for the completion of the Town Creek Greenway. She said the next step was to get the "right of ways." She also mentioned that the City had experienced delays as a result of freeing up the grant money.
